Hi! My name is Chhavi Kumar (She/Her) and I am a 4th Sociology major and Psychology minor.
I am a TA in the UBC Sociology Department and my academic interests include migration, crime and society, and social inequality. I am also interested in international law but more so in working towards making the justice system truly equitable through my practice, advocating for policy change, and more.
Besides school, I have many passions such as listening to music, which I do for a large part of my day, every day. I also enjoy baking, and hanging out with my friends while we listen to music and talk about anything and everything. Lastly, I am a volunteer for UBC Rabbitats and I love it!
What brings you to the ACAM Dialogues cohort?
I was a part of ACAM Dialogues’ 2023/2024 Cohort and along with the wonderful and thought-provoking discussions, I found a safe place for myself, which I wanted to return to and help create for other new members. I learned a lot through this opportunity last time and I hope to learn more by listening to other people’s stories and sharing my own.
