Tanay (he/him) is a third-year undergraduate student completing his degree in Psychology and Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice (GRSJ) at UBC. Born in Vasai, India, raised (for most of his life) in Singapore, and now living on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and sʔəl̀ilwətaʔɬ nations, Tanay engages in research around racial, sexual, and ethnic identity alongside mental health and migration. When he’s not studying (which is more time than he’d like to admit), Tanay loves to relish the natural world, going on hikes, to the beach, skiing, and chasing sunrises/sunsets whenever and wherever he can! Moreover, Tanay loves hosting a gathering and bringing people together, whether in a larger event space or the comfort of his home. Tanay was introduced to ACAM Dialogues by his roommate, wherein he found a community that co-created an enriching space for personal growth, intellectually engaging discourse, and finding resonance through shared and unique experiences. It’s his first year here and he is thrilled to grow alongside the cohort.
